1、一分钟谈一项内容
自我介绍的时间一般为3分钟，在时间的分配上，第一分钟可谈谈学历等个人基本情况，第二分钟可谈谈工作经历，对于应届毕业生而言可谈相关的社会实践，第三分钟可谈对本专业的理想和对于本专业的看法。如果自我介绍要求在1分钟内完成，自我介绍就要有所侧重，攻其一点，不及其余。
在实践中，有些学生不了解自我介绍的重要性，只是简短地介绍一下自己的姓名、身份，其后补充一些有关自己的学习经历、实习经历等情况，大约半分钟左右就结束了自我介绍，然后望着导师，等待下面的提问，这是相当不妥的，白白浪费了一次向导师推荐自己的宝贵机会。而另一些学生则试图将自己的全部经历都压缩在这几分钟内，这也是不明智的做法。合理地安排自我介绍的时间，突出重点是首先要考虑的问题。
2、千万别太做作
小芳去南方的某所院校进行复试，面试在一个大的办公室内进行，五人一小组，围绕话题自由讨论。导师要求每位学生先作自我介绍，小芳是第二位，与前面同学一句一顿的介绍不同，她早做了准备，将大学四年里所干的事，写了一段话，还作了一些修饰，注重韵脚，听起来有些押韵。在此种场合，如果过于表现，就反倒给人不好的印象。
3、切勿采用”背诵”口吻
人力资源专家指出，自我介绍可以事前准备，也可以事前找些朋友做练习，但自我介绍应避免书面语言的严整与拘束，而应使用灵活的口头语进行组织。切忌以背诵朗读的口吻介绍自己，如果那样的话，对导师来说，将是无法忍受的。自我介绍还要注意声线，尽量让声调听来流畅自然，充满自信。
4、好的自我介绍包含要素
1)我是谁
自我介绍的第一步是要让导师知道你是谁。个性化地介绍姓名有多种方式，你可以从名字的音、义、形或者从名字的来历进行演绎。但是发音一定要准(南方考生要多加注意)。
例如：从名字的音：我叫邵飞，谐音少非，希望生活能少一点是是非非。
2)我想做什么
做过什么，代表着你的经验和经历。你要说清楚确切的时间、地点、担任的职务、工作内容等，这样让导师觉得真实、可信。
想做什么，代表着你未来的理想。你应该介绍自己对专业、行业的看法和理想，包括你的规划。
3)避开介绍内容的禁忌
忌讳主动介绍个人爱好。忌讳使用过多的”我”字眼。忌讳头重脚轻。忌讳介绍背景而不介绍自己。忌讳夸口。忌讳说谎。忌讳过于简单，没有内容。
考官要求你作自我介绍时，不要用…let me introduce myself briefly / please allow me to introduce myself to you等句子，重复、啰嗦。开头可以只用一句话引入：Dear professors, I feel so glad to meet all of you here.然后就可以进入主题，介绍姓名、年龄等等。
自我介绍可长可短，关键在于你能否在有限的时间内，突出重点表现自己。
5、如何能准备一个精彩的自我介绍
1).了解所报专业，抓住专业中所需要的具体能力。在复试时，导师让你自我介绍的时候充分发挥自己在专业上的能力。
2).你可以预先设想一下导师提的问题，之后再看看你的'简历，从中找出五六个可以说明你优点的词。
3).回想一下你过去的成功经历，比如你在专业上有所突破性的经历。
4).对”自我介绍”这个问题，写一份时长为30秒的答案。答案中包括你的个人优点以及个人的成功经历
5).你的回答中应该着重交代正面的个人经历，不要谈论其他无关的事。
6).反复进行自我介绍的练习，让自我介绍脱口而出，让人感觉就是介绍真是的自己。
